Important Stretch Goal

The campaign is going smoothly and we just unlocked a Stretch Goal that we really love: a tray with spaces for each miniature in it! This is a really important upgrade since it means that the minis will be safe and sound at all times! And honestly, who doesn't love to see the game components neatly organized inside the box? We surely do!

We heard you! 

We have received a lot of feedback about the App Upgrade Stretch Goals, so we have decided to remove the next one, too. We may add them again in the future if we gain enough momentum, but for the time being we prefer to focus on other things. We feel that everyone will be happy with stretch goals focused on the physical game. For this reason the new miniature Obsidusa The Devourer is going to be the next stretch goal! 

Since it was heavily requested, we are also working on adding unique powers to the monster cards, maybe a peculiar ability for each one or something along these lines.

Coming up next

We’ve finally revealed the Battle Command Seal. It's a screen that can be used during combat to hide your chosen card. We decided to add this because we heard that a lot of people felt hiding the card in their hand was an unnatural interaction and wanted a better solution. Now, you will be able to give orders during battle like a true general: putting them in a missive authenticated by the official seal of the guild you are representing! We will add a screen for each player, with the custom seal and color of each guild. The final layout and design is still being worked on, so this is just a draft of the idea.

We've also been asked if more reviews were going to be released, and the answer is yes! We have 11 prototypes traveling around the world, so you can expect new articles and videos to come out soon! To give a Sneak Peek, here are just a couple of names: UndeadViking and Unfiltered Gamer should be the ones coming out next! Stay tuned on the Campaign page!

Clarification about Shipping

Concerns about Shipping Costs

We’ve heard a lot of comments about shipping prices: some people said they were fair, others that they were outrageously high and others thought we may be losing backers because of them. We also see a lot of misunderstanding, like assuming the game will be shipped from Italy or that we are overcharging for them. We want to give you our stance while trying to shed some light on the issue.

The most important thing for us is to clarify that we want to offer you the lowest possible price for shipping and we have no interest whatsoever in charging you more than what is strictly required by our fulfillment partner. If our partner charges a certain amount, we will charge exactly that amount to you without any overhead from our side.

With our previous campaign we underestimated shipping expenses, and we ended up having to cover unplanned additional costs. As you can imagine, this is not sustainable for a company that wants to grow and work on many more amazing projects. This is why with Mysthea we decided to give an estimated range that would cover even the worst case scenario. This doesn’t mean that you will pay the highest value in the range or that we will charge you more than what is required. The highest prices within these ranges are what we expect somebody in a remote location or under special circumstances will have to pay, not the cost for everyone.

Also keep in mind that we are talking about the price of an international shipping that includes customs and import duties, freight, warehousing, handling, and logistics costs on top of a game that will weigh around 3.5/4kg with dimensions of 32x32x8 (that could still increase based on how many stretch goals we unlock!).

We will do everything in our power to obtain the best deal with our fulfillment partner, and our goal will be to let you pay the lowest possible rate. At the moment we negotiated prices basing our numbers on Barbarians. Mysthea’s campaign has however reached the same amount of backers in the first days, and this will give us more leverage for sure. At the moment, the only certain way to lower shipping expenses is to increase the number of backers! Only through a larger volume will we be able to obtain better rates. 

We hope this clarifies any doubts about shipping. On a final note: Kickstarter has featured us as a “Project We Love”! Yay!

New Stretch Goals and the Battle Command Seal!

Stretch Goals

Another day, and some more stretch goals!

Meet Sanya, the newest Champion mini (and card!). At this point we have six Champions available to choose from during your gameplay. Sanya is a quick hero, and moving fast is her strongest asset.

We also revealed the next Monster Miniature, the frightening Obsidusa The Devourer. More info about him when we will unlock it!

Nonetheless, we still have a lot of SG left to unlock to make the best game possible! So don't forget to share the campaign with people who might be interested in the game!

We heard your feedback!

We heard your feedback that you prefer if we could currently focus on other things instead of the App updates. Since so many of you asked us to do this we decided to change the second app SG to a psychical upgrade for the game.

Even if we can't reveal it completely just yet, we want to give you an hint. It's called a Battle Command Seal. It's useful during gameplay and we also think that it adds a lot of flavor to the game. Who wants to guess what it could be? 

A lot of backers asked for this and we really care about your feedback. For the same reason we are coming to our next update...

Leather Player Boards?

We are considering adding the option to add the Leather Player Board, since it seems a highly requested add-on. We initially discarded the idea because we didn't feel it would fit with the theme of Mysthea, being an item more in line with barbarian theme and setting. But some backers said that they would buy them in a nice purple color, so they would also fit the game aesthetics. 

We asked our factory and this is the kind of faux leather we could use to make them, but first we have to see if you guys actually want them since we have to produce them in a minimum quantity!

What an amazing way to wake up this morning!! Mysthea entered The Hotness in Board Game Geek, and is in Kicktraq Hot List. And doesn't end here, 5 more Stretch Goals unlocked, including a Major Stretch Goal!!! This campaign is off to a really exciting start. Thank you all for being here!

We have updated the Stretch Goals in the campaign, but it looks like we might need to do it again really soon. We had to get a few hours of sleep last night, but we're back now and will be revealing what awesome elements will be arriving next!

Thicker Gameboard & Eventboard

First of all, the Mysthea game and event boards will be getting a nice aesthetic upgrade! This will mean a thicker cardboard that's more durable and really just feels and looks better on the table. 

Print on the Back of the Game and Event Boards

This is another aesthetic stretch goal, that is really going to make the game and event board so much better! We will be adding a design to the backside of both of these to add a bit of Mysthea beauty.

5th Player Expansion

 And so we've unlocked our second Major Stretch Goal!! This one is really exciting, guys, because it includes a ton of different components, that together will enable a 5th player expansion!! 

There will be a new player board to represent the 5th guild of Mysthea - Lusma the Guild of Faith. We will be adding their backstory to the lore section of the website so keep an eye out for that, too, if you are interested.

There will be a 4 extra golem and 8 troop miniatures, tokens, miniature bases, and an artefact tile. We wanted to offer all these great additions in one single Stretch Goal as opposed to splitting this up at different levels, so we can already be sure that the 5th player mode is fully activated!!

Thicker Player Boards, Islands and Tokens

Similar to the upgrade for the game and event boards, the player boards, islands, and tokens will all be made of a thicker, more durable cardboard. First of all, this ensures that your game stays in great condition for longer, plus the components feel and look better on the table!

Print on the Back of the Islands

Another design upgrade! Double sided printing for the islands, with a Mysthea design on the back. 

What's Coming

If you are keeping count, you will notice we are coming up on another Major Stretch Goal!!! What do you think about another monster for Mysthea?! This stretch goal will include new artwork and of course a new Monster Miniature!!! Cannibarok the Qoam Eater is a pretty scary creature that will make the life of our Champions tremendously hard. Stay tuned for more about its lore!

One last note

Thanks for all the feedback you are giving us on the comments section. We will try to satisfy your requests, and make them happen. Many of you asked about flavor text and names on the cards: we are currently discussing this, and we will most likely add the names. Flavor text is going to be a bit more problematic, so our solution will be to implement it through the companion app. 
As for the issue of shipping cost for US backers, those are the quotations we received from different carriers based on the data from Barbarians. Currently the range is between 23 and 28 € for USA, and this includes duties. We will charge only the actual price the shipping company charges us, so there won't be any speculation on our side. We will also keep looking for better rates, and change them if we manage to find them, but our priority is that our games arrive 100% safe in backers hands. This might mean a slightly higher price, but we don't want any of you to receive damaged goods and have to settle for them. 

We surpassed our previous campaign in less than 24h!

Milestones

In the first day we surpassed a lot of milestones that we didn't expect to reach this quickly! We funded in a little more than three hours, we reached 1000 backers in six and we reached 200% funding in just 12 hours! And we just coronated our last milestone reaching the number of backers we had with our previous campaign, Barbarians: The Invasion, in less than 24h! On top of that we already unlocked eleven stretch goals. These are great accomplishments for us, thank you again for your great support and for the love for our project.

Stretch Goals

We are going through the Stretch Goals extremely fast, with a lot of quality upgrades already reached! Up to now, we've unlocked a total of 14 additional miniatures, and the last one is Cannibarook: the Qoam Eater. We are talking about a big and dangerous creature that lives only to satisfy his obsession: eating the precious crystal Qoam. We will update the lore soon to include him along with all the characters we have unlocked. In the meantime: here you can find the backstory of the new guild. Read the article to learn their real role in the creation of the artefact that allowed the Champions of Mysthea to reach the unknown floating islands!

Coming up are some really exciting stretch goals, including another new miniature, this time a fierce Champion, and a custom plastic tray for the miniatures to fit nice and safely inside the box!
