Translated Rulebooks available and some surprises!

We are progressing with the translation and layout of the Rulebook in different languages. We finished the Italian, German, French and Portuguese Rulebooks and they are now available for you to download! We are currently working on the remaining languages, and we will share them as soon as our translator and designers will be finished! 

As some of you may have noticed, the Portuguese Rulebook was not mentioned on the campaign and wasn’t initially planned. It’s the first community sourced Rulebook of the game, translated by your fellow backer Ricardo Jesus, give him a round of applause!

Read them and let us know if you find any kind of typos that could be fixed, maybe we let something slip through the cracks!

Inside the Rulebook

The first samples arrived from the factory and we started to approve them for production! In particular the printed sample of the Rulebook was spot on, we are really happy with the final results!

We worked really hard to ensure that the Rulebook would be accurate and practical to read. It will be your faithful guide every step of the way without leaving you in the shadow. As you can see below, the “Getting Ready” part is essential, clear, and concise. It is composed of only two pages and you don’t need to know anything else to set-up the game quickly!

Another nice addition is the presence of lore, a really important aspect of the game that will help you immerse in the wonderful world of Mysthea. In the first page, for instance, you will find the origins of this enigmatic world, then, at page 16 and 17, you will find every monster card with each reward, but also their characteristics and descriptions, to better understand how these scary beasts behave in the world of Mysthea.

At the end of the Rulebook, you will find all the command cards with a concise explanation. This is a really important part of the Rulebook, since it allows you to quickly check every card if you have any doubt on how to read the iconography.

This part will also be present on the Cards Reference that we added as a Stretch Goal, to ensure that you won't have to pass the Rulebook around the table too much during the game!

A comic set in the world of Mysthea?! 

We want to announce that we have started to develop a short comic set in the world of Mysthea and we will soon reveal the first pages! This short comic will be distributed digitally for free to help you immerse in the world of the game and gather more details about it and its history! 

We want you to get involved, so we decided to release this comic a few pages at a time and then ask you how the plot should evolve.

Production status 

What’s up guys? On our last update we showed you the graphic changes we made in the cards of Mysthea. Today we wanted to let you know that the production of Mysthea is going terrifically! We received drafts from the factory, so everything is going smooth as silk!

As for Barbarians The Invasion add-on we’re sure you are eager to find out about its latest shipping details. We sent emails with the tracking numbers of each parcel. You didn’t receive the tracking by mail? Please feel free to reach our support team at [email protected] and they will help you right away! Every single parcel has been shipped! They have been shipped from Italy and USA, so it could take a little longer for some parcels to reach you. You have already received the package but you need some replacements? Keep in mind to contact our support team.

The survey lockdown went smoothly 

As we stated in our last update, we locked your reward selections and we charged your credit cards. 

There were some errors with some credit cards that have been declined. To those who happened, don’t worry because BackerKit sent you an email containing all the instructions you should follow to fix the payment. Please hurry up to proceed with the payment, otherwise we won't be able to ship you the game and add-ons!

Besides, a large number of backers haven't completed the survey yet. Please answer the survey as soon as possible, otherwise any additional warehousing, handling and shipping charges may occur and you will receive your copy after the global fulfillment.

More details about the updated graphics

Let's check out more updated components that we developed recently! Even though you've already seen the board game set up in the rulebook, we figured you would be happy to see it in detail in all its glory!

This is how you will see your gameboard as soon as you start the game! It's going to become pretty crowded with miniatures and components during the game, so don't forget to enjoy the amazing artwork while you set-up the game!

During the game development there have been some changes and we wanted to share them with you, so you could see how everything was improved and polished even more.

A nice change concerned the borders of the icons. Before we felt they were too flat, so we decided to make them more realistic and with our amazing graphic designers we added more depth trying to give it a 3D-like effect. Check them out!

These are the kind of details and finishes that can make a difference in the overall production value of the game and we are happy we could manage to review every component to this extent!

We can't wait to start delving deeper into pre-production to share with you even more bits, but in the meantime let us know what you think about this recent changes! Let’s hear some feedback!

Last call to finalize your survey!

20th of June Deadline

The last day to make final updates to your order is the 20th of June. After this date, we will lock your reward selections and charge cards for shipping, add-on item purchases and pledge upgrades. You can update your shipping address up until we lock addresses for shipping, but please be sure to purchase all the add-ons before this date.

If you haven’t answered your survey yet or if you fill out your BackerKit survey after the 20th of June, your shipment may happen after the global fulfillment and you may incur in additional warehousing, handling and shipping charges.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://mysthea.backerkit.com.

Development Update

Everything is going great and we are hitting all our planned deadlines without any hiccup. Pre-production with the factory should start really soon and we can't wait to receive the first samples from them, really excited about it!

Currently we are finalizing the Rulebook: we have collaborated with Paul Grogan, a professional and experienced Rulebook copy editor that helped us refine the game rules ensuring they are clear and concise. 

The Rulebook has been improved a lot from what we showed during the campaign and we are finally ready to show it to you:

Almost ready to start production! 

A quick update about game development. Everything is going smoothly and our graphic team is wrapping up the last components, this means that soon we should be able to send the files to the factory and start the first phases of production! This week we will do another update and show you more about that.

Last call to have your name inside the box

Since we are wrapping up the last files, we need to export all the names you have given us to design the inside of the box. The 13th of June we will export all the names from BackerKit, so be sure to answer the survey before that date to ensure that your name will be inside the box.

We left the game box as the last component in order to give you the most time possible to answer the survey, but now it’s time to give an official deadline.

If you haven’t answered to the survey before the 13th of June your name won’t be inside the box. 

More Barbarians copies soon available! 

We have an update from the US fulfillment center, they informed us that they will directly deliver leftover copies of Barbarians: The Invasion, so we will be able to add those to BackerKit too! We expect to add 60 additional copies of the Iron Edition (with miniatures) and 70 of the Wooden Edition (with meeples) to BackerKit. Please keep in mind that this is the very last stock available, quantities will be limited and last time they sold out really soon.

The copies will be added the 13th of June at 17:00 CEST and will be shipped directly from the fulfillment center so be sure to complete the survey after you grab one!
